NSW Minister for Sport & Recreation, Stuart Ayres MP, excited to welcome crews back to Sydney.

The Sydney International Rowing Regatta (SIRR) is once again set to take over Western Sydney when the 2015 event commences next month. SIRR 2015 returns to the Sydney International Regatta Centre, Penrith (SIRC) with the seven-day regatta being held from Monday 23 to Sunday 29 March 2015 featuring the King’s and Queen’s Cups Interstate Regatta as well as the Australian Open and Schools Championships.

Tickets for Australian Rowing’s number one event went on sale today, 3 February, via the official ticket seller, Ticketek

Minister for Sport and Recreation, Minister for Western Sydney and Member for Penrith Stuart Ayres said: “I look forward to welcoming teams from across Australia to Penrith for the Sydney International Rowing Regatta, which is proudly supported by the NSW Government through our tourism and major events agency Destination NSW.

“As the largest rowing event in Australia, the regatta is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Sydney and NSW to thousands of athletes and spectators, and I encourage everyone to book their tickets today.”

Tickets for the event are now available on Ticketek and can be accessed here and tickets start from just $25, while there is no cost for parking your car at the venue for the event. The full list of ticketing options can be viewed here.

Chair of the SIRR 2015, John Boultbee echoed Mr Ayres excitement of the event returning to Penrith: “It’s wonderful for the event to once again be held in one of Australia’s premier rowing venues, the Sydney International Regatta Centre.

Along with various international crews looking to come and test themselves against Australia’s best at our week-long event, the Championships will culminate in the fantastic Interstate Regatta, which includes the King’s and Queen’s Cups.

“I strongly encourage everyone to purchase their tickets and come and support Australia’s finest rowers and support your State in the hotly contested Interstate Regatta.”

Spectators at the event will be treated to a showcase of some of the best Australian rowing and para-rowing, be it in the Australian Open Rowing Championships, Australian Open Schools Rowing Championships and the King’s and Queen’s Cups Interstate Regatta.
